Vegetation development on the Brockenplateau in the Harz National Park from 1990 to 2022

The vegetation development on the Brocken from 1990 to 2021 is to be considered here. The bases for this are the vegetation mappings from 1993, 2013 and 2021 according to the method of Braun-Blanquet (1964). The aim of this work is to show changes in the land use by different plant communities of the Brocken hilltop. The influence of the biotope maintenance measures on the plant communities, but also on the development of some selected species of the Brocken hilltop is presented. Furthermore, recommendations for the further handling of the plant communities of the Brocken plateau, which is located in the management zone of the Harz National Park, will be given.
