To the identity of Festuca duvalii

Abstract

F. ovina subsp. sulcata var. duvalii St.-Yves is lectotypified by a specimen from the herbarium Genève. We advocate an application of F. duvalii (St.-Yves) Stohr for tetraploid plants on rocks in the hill area of Palatinate and Rhinehesse (Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate) and in the arid environments near Rouffach (France, dép. Haut-rhin) and Schweinfurt (Germany, Bavaria). Morphology, ploidy and distribution of F. duvalii are treated.
