Abstract

Distribution of 49 Alchemilla species in the French and Swiss Jura have been mapped. A. psilopodia is new to science. Several species are recorded for the first time: A. oscensis new for Central Europe, A. hybrida new for Switzerland, A. jaquetiana new for France, A. firma, A. propinqua, A. speciosa and A. squarrosula new for the Jura mountains. Three predominantly southwestern European taxa (A. hybrida, A. oscensis, A. vetteri) are described in detail and compared to morphologically similar species, i.e. A. colorata, A. exigua, A. filicaulis, A. glaucescens, A. monticola, A. plicata, A. propinqua, A. psilopodia, A. strigosula, A. subglobosa.
